Demonsthenes Lorandos

Dr. Demosthenes Lorandos, a licensed forensic psychologist and attorney, has been a clinical and forensic psychologist for over five decades. He is of Greek and Australian descent and has studied science at the New School for Social Research after completing his graduation from San Francisco State. Dr. Lorandos has re-trained in law and has been a litigator for the last three decades. He is a Thomson Reuters WEST “Key Author” with a three-volume set on the way.

Dr. Lorandos is nationally recognized for his legal and scholarly work on the cross-examination of experts, parental alienation, and false allegations. He has testified in litigation matters involving false allegations of child abuse and parental alienation. Dr. Lorandos has revealed how adults and counselors “tainted” memories of small children to make it look like a parent or day care teacher had harmed them. He has turned the tables on bad custody decisions and parental alienation through painstaking investigations and knowledgeable behavioral science.

Dr. Lorandos has authored, co-authored, contributed, or edited four books and numerous peer-reviewed scholarly articles on behavioral science and law. He is a member of the Bar of the United States Supreme Court, Second, Sixth, Ninth, Eleventh Federal Circuits, and is active in the Michigan State Bar. He has retired from the New York, California, Washington, DC, and Tennessee state bars.

Dr. Lorandos specializes in breaking down complicated science for judges and juries and separating “good” from “junk” science in the courtroom. He has provided continuing education for judges, lawyers, and forensic psychologists and has always received excellent and outstanding student evaluations. As a trial lawyer, Dr. Lorandos is particularly skilled in talking to juries.
